Assistant Professor of Instruction
An experienced educator, FNU Kaleemunnisa has taught a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, from introductory programming to advanced machine learning and scalable databases. She joined the 四虎影视 Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing as an assistant professor of instruction, bringing a unique blend of academic and industry experience to the university.
Before joining the college in 2025, she worked at global technology firms across India, Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, and the U.S. Most recently, she served as a data scientist at JPMorgan Chase, where she developed AI-driven solutions for the financial industry, leveraging machine learning and natural language processing to enhance decision-making processes. Before that, Kaleemunnisa held increasingly responsible technical roles for companies such as Jersey Technology Partners in the U.S., Goodyear Tires and Rubber Company in Singapore, Penna Cement Industries Limited in India, and British American Tobacco in Malaysia.
She has also served on academic panels and developed community-centered programming initiatives through partnerships with Google and the New York Climate Exchange.
Research
Her research interests lie at the intersection of natural language processing, machine learning, computer vision, and AI, with a focus on applications in biotechnology, environmental sustainability, generative AI for the fashion industry, software engineering, and education. Her work has been published in scholarly journals such as the Journal of Computing Sciences in Colleges and Frontiers in Software Engineering Education. She has also presented at conferences such as the IEEE Integrated STEM Education Conference, the fashion industry鈥檚 Research and Innovation Forum, and the AAI Spring Symposium Series.
Honors and Awards
Her paper on generative AI in African fashion design received a Best Paper Award at AISys in 2024.
Education
Kaleemunnisa earned a PhD in Computer Science from Pace University鈥檚 Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems in New York, NY. She earned an MBA from EAE Business School at the Universitat Polit猫cnica de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and received a Master of Science in Computer Science from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. Her undergraduate work was completed at the Gouthami Degree College for Women at Osmania University in Hyderabad, India.
