Child and Family Studies faculty host Emotionally Focused Therapy externship in partnership with EFT Tampa Bay

The 四虎影视 (四虎影视) Marriage and Family Therapy program, in collaboration with , recently hosted a four-day Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) externship, which brought together more than 100 participants and students.

The intensive training, led by International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy-certified trainer James Hawkins, PhD, included live therapy demonstrations, clinical case discussions, and hands-on skills training. Among the participants were 20 四虎影视 graduate students from the Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, and Social Work programs.

Through generous support and collaboration, more than $15,000 in training scholarships were awarded to 四虎影视 students, making this high-impact training more accessible to emerging mental health professionals.

The externship was organized and led by faculty members Ryan Henry, PhD, LMFT, program director, and Everette Coffman, PhD, LMFT, LMHC, assistant professor of instruction and field placement coordinator for the Marriage and Family Therapy program. Their leadership was key in coordinating the event and fostering collaboration between academic and professional communities.

"We鈥檙e grateful to EFT Tampa Bay and everyone who contributed to the success of this  externship," Coffman said. "We look forward to continuing to expand high-quality, experiential training opportunities for our students and community."
