Lindsay Peterson, PhD, a research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, has been named a fellow in the Gerontological Society of America (GSA), the nation鈥檚 oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization dedicated to the field of aging.
Fellow status indicates peer recognition for outstanding contributions to the field of gerontology and represents the highest class of GSA membership. The distinction is awarded at varying points in a person鈥檚 career and is given for diverse activities including research, teaching, administration, public service, practice, and notable participation in GSA.
Fellows are selected from across GSA鈥檚 membership groups. Peterson was recognized by GSA's Social Research Policy and Practice Section and will be formally recognized along with the other new fellows during GSA鈥檚 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting, which will be held November 12-15, 2025, in Boston, MA.
In addition to her role as a research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, Peterson is the director of the Health Care Administration and Aging Sciences internship program, and interim director of the Florida Policy Exchange Center on Aging at 四虎影视. Her primary research interests include long-term care policy and practice as well as communication concerning decision-making, disaster planning, and advance care planning for older adults.
