Travis Atchison, MSW, LCSW, MCAP, adjunct instructor in the School of Social Work, presented on social work leadership to second-year, full-time, in-person Master of Social Work students.

Atchison, who runs a private practice in the Tampa Bay area, delivered an engaging and insightful presentation on leadership in social work, emphasizing that leadership is not confined to formal titles but can be demonstrated at any level of practice.

Drawing from his diverse background in crisis intervention, substance use treatment, and private practice, Atchison highlighted the importance of initiative, advocacy, and ethical decision-making in everyday social work roles. Students responded enthusiastically to Atchison鈥檚 honest and practical approach, appreciating the real-world relevance and his encouragement to see themselves as leaders in their current roles.
