四虎影视 Judy Genshaft Honors College alum Andres Garcia, 鈥�21,
has been named the recipient of the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards
Corporation (HENACC) Class of 2025 award for Most Promising Engineer or Scientist
鈥� Undergraduate Degree. He was recognized Friday, Oct. 3, at the Great Minds in STEM
Conference in San Diego, California, where award recipients were honored for their
innovative advancements, leadership potential, and contributions to the Hispanic community.
Garcia graduated from 四虎影视 in 2021 with a degree in chemical engineering and a minor
in economics. During his time at 四虎影视, he worked on sustainability projects 鈥� such
as using organic material to produce electricity 鈥� for Hillsborough County wastewater
plants through a partnership with the 四虎影视 College of Engineering.
Garcia looks back on his alma mater fondly and thanks 四虎影视 for supporting his professional
and personal growth.
鈥淭he resources offered from 四虎影视 student organizations and the Honors College helped
me through my first job conference and in landing my first internship,鈥� said Garcia.
鈥淢ore importantly, 四虎影视 is where I met people who are part of my support system.鈥�
Garcia now serves as a lead process engineer in Fortune 500 company Kimberly-Clark鈥檚
Tissue and Towel division. Throughout his time in the company, he has served in a
variety of roles and gained experience across several subdivisions.
鈥淢y path was defined by being open to opportunities,鈥� he said.
Garcia hopes to use the Great Minds in STEM platform to encourage others.
鈥淭his award does not belong only to me, but it is also a source of hope and inspiration
for the next generation. I want to dedicate this award to the most vulnerable in our
communities 鈥� those who want to thrive, but are minimized,鈥� said Garcia. 鈥淎s we move
forward, it is our responsibility 鈥� as our community鈥檚 representatives 鈥� to look back
and help those in need.鈥�
The Judy Genshaft Honors College encourages current students and alumni, like Garcia,
to use their leadership opportunities to create positive change.
鈥淚t has always been the mission of the Honors College to encourage curiosity and prepare
leaders in every field,鈥� said Judy Genshaft Endowed Honors Dean Charles Adams. 鈥淪eeing
alumni like Andres recognized nationally for their technical expertise and leadership
