Dear faculty and staff,
I am pleased to share that we have finalized our interim succession plans for several administrative units, following our recent message that Angie Sklenka will be leaving ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ this month.
Heather Brock will serve as the interim vice president of Human Resources, beginning Aug. 15. She brings to ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ more than 25 years of experience leading institutional transformation, talent strategy and employee development. Most recently Heather served as the head of employment law and employee relations for Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. from 2020 to 2024. Over the course of her career, she has served on the Washington & Lee University Alumni Board and the University of Florida Levin College of Law Alumni Council, her alma maters. I know Heather well from our time together at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and formerly Fowler White Boggs, and I look forward to welcoming her to our university community.
Jennifer Condon, vice president and chief financial officer, will oversee functions that fall under Facilities and Planning on an interim basis.
Sidney Fernandes, vice president for digital experiences and chief information officer, will continue in his role and will temporarily report to me.
All three will work closely with me and our entire leadership team to continue our success in these important areas and across our university.
Sincerely,
Rhea F. Law
President
